The start of 2009 Season
|
We are very excited to start working on the 2009 season. This year the owners of the bullring are no longer in the corrida businsess they have passed it along to the Bustamante family who started a company called BUSA PRODUCTIONS, SA de CV. They have been very responsive to my details, concerns and questions and very sure they are structured and organized to actually produce the 2009 season.. Well see?

Quick Review of May 24 Corrida

The full review will be posted later, this is a quick results report:
Large gathering of aficionados, finally. Parking lot was jammed, long lines in the streets and ticket booths too, results:
Gaston Santos: applause y 2 orejas (one was sufficient)
Fermin Spinola: saludos y division de opinion (sword work was not good on both)
Pepehillo: palmas y 2 orejas (one was sufficient)
Forcados de Mazatlan had two good pegas, with the second one getting knocked around.
Like I said gran ambiente for the opener.

Quick Review of June 14th Bullfight

INDULTO
Fernando Ochoa: oreja, (4th bull injured), indulto*
Jose Mauricio: vuelta y dos orejas
Manuel Gonzalez "Montoyito": al tercio y palmas
* was a toro de regalo from the ganaderia of Fernando de la Mora, and the 7th bull.
Notes: The fourth bull of the afternoon broke his right leg and had to be dispatched, since it happened after the pick, and at first pair of sticks, there was no exchange of bulls, instead he had to get a toro de regalo. The order continued as it was originally. Thats the impression I got, I thought there was going to be an exchange but apparently not.
