Tijuana, the rise of the border bullfight world

Tijuana is the only location in the world that has the advantage of being immerse in two worlds.. One Mexican the other American. This window of opportunity opens to the average tourist an experience of two worlds for the price of one. This is the location were the bullfights take place. World renowned as "the world's most visited border city", Tijuana invites you to discover and enjoy its extensive variety of attractions and activities. We assure you that in Tijuana you will find many interesting and entertaining places, from world-class restaurants, nightclub shows and discotheques to such tourist attractions as bull fights, golf courses, museums, and the Cultural Center. In addition to all of that, you'll find a wealth of Mexican handicrafts, rustic style furniture at attractive prices, clothing and many imported items, including a wide assortment of European perfumes.

The beautiful history & architecture of the two Tijuana bullrings is like no other in the world. The first and the oldest bullring in the city is named El Toreo de Tijuana or in English The Tijuana Bullring.
It is located along the oldest road of the city, Agua Caliente and located as a strategic point for the city. It was first built during the early 1930s as a symbol of Tijuana's growing tourism during the American Prohibition era. It held its first bullfight on July 3rd, 1938. The structure was made entirely of wood. In 1957, the bullring was rebuilt completely and the wood was replaced by steel. The ring has a capacity of approximately 14,000 spectators. The bullring bought a sense of pride to Tijuana.

The second bullring is named the Bullring by the Sea or Plaza Monumental. It is located adjacent to Tijuana's Playa or Beach and also to the USA fenced border walls.
The construction of the Bullring by the Sea started early in 1960. By June of the same year, the bullring was completed. It took a record of only 116 days to finish building it. It held its first bullfight on June 26, 1960. With a capacity of over 21,000 spectators, Tijuana's Bullring by the Sea occupies the title of second largest bullring in Mexico. The bullring can be emptied entirely from full in only 6 minutes. It is situated at approximately 30 yards from the US/Mexico border and its parking lot can fit 3,000 cars parked comfortably. The Bullring by the Sea is a stunning example of Post Modern Classical Architecture. If you go, please take a chance to sit at its courtyard and admire the stunning beauty building.
